Last week was cool overall, averaging 2.3 degrees below average, but much of that was centered on Wednesday and Thursday's shot of arctic chill that essentially was balanced out by the milder and more seasonable rest of the week. Temperatures started off mild before a cold front crossed the region early Tuesday morning with showers, then temperatures dropped back quickly into the low 30's on Wednesday and upper 20's on Thursday with chilly winds on Wednesday, flurries Wednesday night, and a more biting cold on Thursday evening and Friday morning before moderation took over during Friday afternoon and Saturday. All in all, precipitation was rather light last week (0.03" total, trace of snow) in what amounted to one of the more tranquil weeks in terms of storminess despite a fair bit of wind throughout the week.
