February 19th and 20th, 2011 Forecast

An unfortunate reality for those who like warm weather as a cold front will slice on through the region tonight, putting an end to the April and May like warmth around the region.   Winds will pick up this evening and it will be quite windy on Saturday.   Besides the likely wind advisories or perhaps wind warnins that will be out one could realistically issue a "Blowing Trash Watch" as some yards, parking lots, and other areas that were once snow covered are now littered with crud and junk.  Some of that will whip around with gusty west and northwest winds.   The cooler temperatures that await will also be accompanied by a chance of rain on Sunday evening into Monday.

Tonight:   Breezy overnight with colder weather moving in.  By morning, expect temperatures in the 30's to around 40 regionwide with west to northwest winds at 12-20 mph during the night.  Some higher gusts are likely toward morning as stronger wind dynamics move overhead.

Saturday:   If we weren't coming down from near record/record warmth, Saturday wouldn't be a terrible day...just windy.  However, it will be colder than yesterday with rather gusty winds that could reach 50-55 mph in some locations and sustained at 25-35 during the day.   With mostly sunny skies, temperatures during the day will top out in the 40's (low 40's north, upper 40's Philly & south) but the official high will probably be reached at Midnight, likely around 50 in the city.    Saturday night will feature diminishing wind (still breezy for much of the night, however) and mostly clear skies.  Lows will generally be in the 20's.

Sunday:  Skies will transition towards cloudy with some showers possible late in the day, more likely Sunday night.   Highs will range from the upper 30's in the Lehigh Valley to the mid 40's in Philly and south.  Winds will slacken to under 10 mph during the afternoon.
