Morning Chill
The heat island wins again in Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey. Morning lows in Philadelphia were quite cold outside of the city -- it was 5 in Doylestown and 0 in Quakertown, while lows only dropped to 16 in Philadelphia. Yep, that 0 in Quakertown was the coldest in the region outside of Somerville, NJ (-1).
This *should* be the last morning of widespread sub 10 degree lows this winter -- the ability for ubercold to shoot south into the Mid Atlantic will become markedly muted over the next couple of weeks...not just from the warm up that is coming but from the decreasing length of nights and the higher sun angle providing more solar pop. While cold nights are certainly possible for the next several weeks, flirtations with 0 or lows in the single digits should become a thing of the past.
