A mild morning for most of the region as a warm front has moved through the region. Temperatures for the most part are in the 40's this morning, with the only notable exception in the immediate area the 20's that hold serve in the Lehigh Valley and Central New Jersey as cool air has pooled across lower lying areas and has yet been scoured out by the warming breezes that much of the region are getting today.
We should approach our warmest temperature of 2011 today in Philadelphia with a forecast high of 54, coming on the heels of yesterday's 50 degree high, as mild west and southwest winds will continue through much of the day before a cold front crosses the region this afternoon. This front will cool us off tonight and Tuesday, but more importantly will bump the winds up as low pressure to our north is pretty strong...the cold front really is not but it will slap us back to February for a day before we return our Spring Fling later this week. The winds will increase to 20-25 mph this afternoon, with gusts to over 40 mph. Wind Advisories are out this afternoon as a result and some of the highest gusts after 2 PM could be on the order of 50 mph, especially across the Shore Points and down in Delaware Bay -- the usual suspect wind spots.
