A mixed bag of wintry slop is expected to move in later tonight, leading to periods of mixed precipitation that gradually transition to a cold off and on light rain around the region. Some freezing rain tomorrow morning in the north and west will lead to a slick start before temperatures nudge above freezing and snow is possible in the Poconos. The good news is after this system a couple of mild days will help thaw us out a fair bit before we reenter the freezer.
Tonight: After midnight, a mixed bag of snow and freezing rain move in, with that transition to rain taking place south of town towards morning. Early evening lows will be in the 20's, with temperature rises likely south of the city after midnight. Winter weather advisories are out for the I-95 corridor and points north starting at 1 AM tonight.
Saturday: Mixed precipitation will transition to a chilly light rain from south to north, except in the Poconos where temperatures don't rise above freezing and the precipitation stays frozen or freezing rain. Some slick spots are likely in the morning between Philly and Allentown but as temperatures nudge higher and daylight increases road conditions should improve. Daytime highs will range from the mid 30's in the Lehigh Valley to the low 40's in South Jersey and Delaware.
Saturday night: Colder air will work back in and rain may transition back to snow before precipitation ends across the Lehigh Valley and perhaps the north/west burbs. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies and lows in the upper 20's and low 30's.
Sunday: Mix of sun and clouds, milder, with a good bit of melting taking place. Expect highs in the lower 40's across the region.
We'll update the snow & ice forecasts for tomorrow in a little bit.
Shameless Plug: Tomorrow (you'll know why tomorrow) we have a pretty cool announcement that you should check out. Check us out during tomorrow evening for details.
