Weather Rewind, February 13-19, 2011
Last week was a typical late-March/early April like week around here in February -- temperatures averaged 11.4 degrees (yes, that much!) above where we should be at this time of the year in the Delaware Valley as we tied one record on Friday, almost hit one on Thursday (missed by two degrees), and enjoyed a tease of warmth that we haven't seen around here since the middle parts of November. A shot of colder air on Monday night into Tuesday brought reality back for a day before we surged back into the 50's on Wednesday and our back-to-back 60's on Thursday and Friday. In many locations, slush piles that defined our yards at the start of the week quickly melted away thanks to the warmth and the increasing sun angle.
The warmth was also accompanied by dry weather as precipitation only amounted to a trace of flurries on Saturday as wind-swept chill returned to the region.
