February 18th, 2011 Forecast

We're going to make a run for a record tomorrow in the Delaware Valley.  Our record high in Philly on Friday is 69 and we're going to get very close to it, with some spots brushing 70 or milder to the city's south tomorrow afternoon.  The warmth will be fleeting, unfortunately, as a cold front will march east and cross the region Friday evening.

Tonight:   Some high clouds will continue to cross the region overnight.  Mild temperatures will continue  overnight as lows drop only into the mid 40's in Philadelphia, with a general low to mid 40's across the rest of the region.  Some light fog can't be ruled out late tonight north of the city as snow melt continues and moistens the atmosphere up somewhat.

Friday:   Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds and we will be quite mild.  Temperatures will range from the mid 60's north to around 70 south of the city with breezes picking up in the afternoon from the west and southwest at 10-18 mph.

Weekend Sneak Peek:   Reality comes back to the region as cooler air slides on back Friday night and Saturday, with temperatures dropping into the 40's on Saturday (daytime, with a "midnight high" just above 50 possible) with a cool breeze from the northwest.   Clouds will be on the increase on Sunday with a chance of showers overnight.   Temperatures will be more typical for mid and late February -- generally mid 40's -- but will feel colder in the wake of our recent spring fling.
