Scary Wave Ride

Check out this footage of a Japanese Navy ship riding above the crest of a tsunami wave in the wake of last Friday's earthquake.   Crazy that even out at sea the wave was several meters high and gave these people a wild ride as the tsunami rushed towards the coastline.

That same tsunami wiped out several towns as we all know.  I'm not sure if you saw this rescue, however, which was one of many that occurred.   Resourceful teamwork by these individuals were able to rescue one woman as well as one man who were stuck on top of debris.   Notice the snow falling during the video -- the weather in Northeast Japan was pretty cold at the time -- temperatures in the 30's during the day, 20's and colder at night.

Probably Worse On The Other Side Of The Pacific, Dude

Best served with audio on...and I'm pretty sure this guy is regretting his choice of words on the video as well as the tsunami generated by the magnitude 9.1 quake splashed into the Oregon coastline yesterday morning.

This would be considered a bigger tragedy as well, I would think, at least on the domestic side instead of the sailboat getting trashed.

I'll cut the guy some slack...when the film is rolling sometimes those talking say things they would in hindsight not say again...look at what's said on television during breaking news coverage of any event and the filter of the teleprompter is not there for the assist.

Still, the below is a tragedy...
