Thunder Threat This Evening

There isn't a severe thunderstorm watch out for our immediate area (there is one in Maryland and Virginia after some clamoring from the local weather service office) but there are some strong thunderstorms around the region.  These storms are generally following the same path this morning's storms followed -- generally east of 476 and skirting the city on into South Jersey.   Thunderstorms as of 6 PM extend from Toms River to Levittown to Horsham, sliding south and southeast at a relatively slow clip (20 mph or less).   Storms will hit or graze the city's Northeast section over the next hour as they continue their slip south/southeast.

More showers/storms trail up the Northeast Extension to Scranton -- those also are moving south and southeast and will trek into the Lehigh Valley over the next couple of hours.
