Thunderstorms didn't hit everyone this afternoon but their rains, where they did hit, were a welcome sight in many locations as the region was popped by a scattered line of thunderstorms that slipped south between 3:30 and 6 PM. Storms brought wind gusts to 47 mph at the Airport during the latter portions of the 5 PM hour and caused a number of reports of damage to trees and wires throughout parts of the region. These storms were associated with a weak frontal boundary that's slipping south into the region this evening and poised to stall out tonight nearby. A thunderstorm or two can't be ruled out later on tonight along the frontal boundary although a good chunk of the region shouldn't see much more in terms of activity. More thunderstorms will be expected tomorrow as the front is agitated by the presence of a weak surface low that develops nearby. We'll update tomorrow's thunder threat in the morning hours.
