July 5th, 2011 Forecast
The warmth of July continues this week as a weak front fizzles out clearing the coastline this evening. Warmth remains in place while humidity levels reduce for a day, which means Tuesday will be quite warm but not that terribly humid as high temperatures approach 90 degrees in many locations away from the coast. We'll transition to the lowering humidity locally with a few stray evening thunderstorms, generally to the south and southeast of town, before they dissipate after sunset. Skies overnight tonight will remain mostly clear and temperatures will drop into the lower 60's north and to the lower 70's in the city itself.
The lower humidity won't last as more moisture returns on Wednesday in advance of another weak frontal boundary. Expect dew points to start climbing Wednesday afternoon and a chance of a stray thunderstorm can't be ruled out, especially south of town. The theme for much of the week will be temperatures that will top out at or near 90 degrees on a daily basis through Thursday before we nudge back into the mid and upper 80's for next weekend.
