On a day that officially gives us our third 90 degree day in a row and our eighth 90 in the last nine days, there's a shot at some thunderstorms later on this evening from a complex of thunderstorms that is entering Western Pennsylvania at this hour. While the complex of storms is entering a less favorable environment for them to maintain the same intensity and strength as they did earlier today (tracking from the Upper Midwest eastward throughout the course of the day), there is enough heat and instability around locally to perhaps bring some thunderstorms after 10 PM locally if the complex is able to survive its general trek through Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Radar trends suggest that the worst of this complex will pass into West Virginia and Virginia as the evening progresses, with the northern flank of the complex working through Pennsylvania over the next several hours. The NAM and other computer models hint at the possibility of some thunderstorms locally later tonight but it will be dependent on how the thunderstorms to our west fare as they work east and southeast.
Some gusty winds and downpours can't be ruled out after 9 PM west of the city, 10 PM locally in Philadelphia, and towards Midnight at the Shore.
