A summery weekend awaits us as a more muggy atmosphere returns to the region. While temperatures won't really climb all that much from where they've been the past few days (mid 80's), dew point values will climb into the mid 60's tomorrow and the upper 60's on Sunday, bringing a definite aura of heat and humidity to the region. It's nothing we haven't dealt with before but it will be a warm one around the Delaware Valley this weekend and into next week.
Thunderstorms are possible on Sunday across much of the region as a weak front tries to make it through the region. The best chances for any thunderstorm activity will be in the afternoon hours across the region, earlier north and west of the city and towards dinner at the Shore. Sunday is the "best chance" day of the weekend but a rogue storm or two could rumble across the Poconos or the western burbs late Saturday night as leftover activity from storms that fire in Western PA on Saturday try to get into the region...odds favor most folks staying dry though.
The front may hang up across the coast on Monday and provide an afternoon thunder threat on the 4th at the Shore and in Delaware. Some of the models are waffling on whether the front clears the coast or not but for now I've brought in a thunder chance for south/east of the city, with Philly and north/west dry and less humid. It will not storm on your parade all day Sunday or Monday -- just be aware that there is a thunder threat though either day down at the coastline.
Highs inland will be near or just above 90 all three days, with 80's at the Shore. Lows in the 50's north/west tonight, 60's the rest of the weekend, with 60's to 70 elsewhere.
We'll update the thunder threat for Sunday and perhaps Monday as the weekend progresses! Stay safe this weekend!
