April has been cruel to lovers of Spring -- but temperatures have averaged slightly above normal thanks to two very warm Mondays, days where the thermometer cracked 80 in a few locations and finally hit 80 on April 11th in Philadelphia. Temperatures month-to-date are averaging 1.4 degrees above where we should be -- and that's despite some rather cool days (April 1st, April 8th) sandwiched around the warmth so far this month.
Rainfall is right around where we should be in the first half of the month (just 0.05" below average, 1.69" through Friday although Saturday's rains put us above average for the whole of April), yet April 1st's rainfall also accompanied by some snow in the Delaware Valley, with an inch or two of accumulation in some spots in the Philly burbs.
