The stalled front that was supposed to start moving north has not done so early this morning, still situated down across Southern Delaware between the Delaware Beaches and Dover, snaking west to just south of Washington. It will, however, begin the northward march as a cold front back across the Ohio Valley pushes east and low pressure over the Great Lakes moves through New York later on today.
Temperatures are poised to jump 30 degrees between this morning's reading and where we'll be this afternoon for all but the far southern parts of the region (the areas that are already in the warm sector). We will probably see the temperature jump take place after 10 AM in Philly, after Noon in the Lehigh Valley. Along the jumping temperatures is the risk for thunderstorms after 1 PM this afternoon in the western parts of the region, after 3 or 4 PM in the city. IF we get enough sunshine today (that's the big IF and wildcard), some of the storms could be strong or severe with damaging wind potential. There is a slight risk for severe weather in the region as of this morning but the "odds" for severe thunderstorm activity are down a bit from last night. Clouds from strong storms that are in the Ohio Valley early this morning may gunk up the severe aspect of thunderstorms later on.
Regardless of thunder or not, enjoy the fleeting and few hours of warmth later on today before we cool back down on Thursday.
