A Bit Less Active, Still Some Dampness To Deal With

The radar picture this morning is a bit less active compared to yesterday evening and last night, where a couple of rounds of thunderstorms traversed through New Jersey after 5 PM and lead to a severe thunderstorm warning down in South Jersey late last evening with the second round of thunder.   Having a strong upper level jet and a potent upper level low will give you some severe weather in the less-than-ideal airmass for it.    The region picked up between one-half and one and a half inches of rain from yesterday's rain and thunder...and we're not done yet.

The good news is that today's activity should be less active than yesterday as the upper level jet has moved east into the Atlantic.  The upper level low is moving overhead today and the shower activity in Maryland and Western Pennsylvania will gradually pivot through over the course of the day and dampen our midday hours, with a few rumbles of thunder not out of the question across the region as the upper level energy is still around.   Winds will gradually slacken off, especially compared to yesterday, temperatures will end up similar (50's for many locations), and off and on showers will be the rule.

The low should pull away this evening and conditions should improve for Thursday.
