April 13th, 2011 Forecast

The high in Philadelphia on Monday was 83 degrees, 1 degree short of the record high of 84 degrees set way back in 1887. I am writing this forecast from Oswego, NY, 300 miles to the north of Philadelphia, and believe it or not, it was warmer in some places up here. The high in Syracuse on Monday was a record-breaking 85 degrees. Fulton, NY, 30 miles north of Syracuse, got to 81 degrees, and here in Oswego, 40 miles north of Syracuse, we got to 79 degrees.

Tonight: Periods of rain, windy. Lows will drop to around 46 degrees. Winds will be from the east-northeast at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. The chance of rain is about 90 percent. The sunset tonight is at 7:36 PM.

Wednesday: Rain tapers to showers. Otherwise, cool and damp under plenty of clouds. The high will be near 56 degrees. Northeast winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph in the morning will shift from the north and diminish to 5 to 15 mph. The chance of rain is about 70 percent.

Thursday: Bright sun, warmer. High near 68 degrees.

Friday: Mix of sun and clouds, mild. High around 66 degrees.
