A rather potent storm system will move through tomorrow, bringing a period of rain and thunder that will be heavy at times on Saturday evening. It's not going to be a nice day by any stretch as a gusty breeze, a cool rain, and gray skies will combine to ruin the latter half of Saturday's activities. We might be able to coax a dry start to the day as rain should hold off in earnest until the midday hours in the city...although rain may start up in the morning to our north and west. Rain will move in, increase in intensity towards evening, and generally be heavy and steady through midnight before beginning to taper off from southwest to northeast. The worst of the storm will generally be between 5 PM and 1 AM, with an inch of rain expected during that time frame.
Thunder is also possible and the convective activity could help enhance the rainfall totals in some locations as the storm moves through.
Winds may gust to over 35 mph inland tomorrow afternoon and evening, to 40 mph or more along the Shore, as the storm cranks through tomorrow evening.
Temperatures tonight drop into the lower 40's in many locations and slowly work their way through the 40's and into the 50's on Saturday. Temperatures will reach their highest point Saturday evening, ranging from 50 north to 58 south.
The storm pulls away early on Sunday morning, with rain leaving the coastline by daybreak. Sunshine should follow and despite a gusty west breeze that could reach 30 mph, temperatures will bounce into the 60's during the afternoon as a lack of cold air is in the wake of this storm. Sunday should be a nice, but breezy, day.
We'll talk more about this weekend's storm system in updated posts through the weekend.
