A weak disturbance is tracking east and dragging a frontal boundary into the region. This boundary will settle through most of the region tomorrow before stalling out, setting up a highway for a second disturbance on Friday. The first of these two disturbances is bringing some showers to the northern half of the region over the next 12-18 hours. Showers will be around, off and on, through Midnight before gradually tapering off from west to east towards morning. Widespread heavy rains aren't likely but a quarter inch of rain across the Lehigh Valley or Poconos can't be ruled out, nor can a few snowflakes over the higher elevations of the Poconos as well.
Philadelphia will get in on the precipitation for a time but more rain falls north of the city than in the city itself, with areas to the south not seeing much in the way of rain at all. As the frontal boundary slides south on Thursday, it stalls to the south and will set up Friday's event (a chilly round of rain). Mostly cloudy skies will be expected on Thursday and with a light east breeze off the Atlantic it will be tough to completely clear out. Temperatures tomorrow look to be a notch or two higher than today, especially from the city on south, while they will be similar to today to the north. Lows tonight will range from near 40 north to the mid 40's in the city and south, with highs on Thursday in the 50's north, around or just above 60 to the south.
We'll talk about Friday's rainfall event later on this evening.
