Morning radar looks a bit like a bad acne outbreak, with scatterings of showers and a few rumbles of thunder about the local landscape early this morning. Today's weather will be somewhat similar to yesterday -- a couple of rounds of showers out and about but it will not be widespread in nature nor last all day long. Temperatures today should end up a few degrees warmer than yesterday's 69 degree high and we should see some low 70's from Philadelphia on south this afternoon.
The computer models are struggling with moisture transport, location, and coverage aspects of rainfall and the NAM and GFS are still honking at the potential for significant rainfall in the region. Well, while that's still possible the heavier rainfall aspects will probably be localized and not as widespread as the models are indicating. A few more rumbles of thunder are possible today, in part due to a bit more instability working in and also in part to some less moist air aloft working in, which may throw some breaks in the clouds up into Philadelphia and help destabilize the atmosphere a bit more.
Today won't be a total washout but probably not the nicest of days overall as we're dodging occasional scattered showers.
