All good things must come to an end -- and that includes the nice pattern of weather we've experienced as of late. A broad disturbance will set up shop over the Ohio Valley and move slowly east...blocked by the leftovers of the upper level low in the Atlantic that was stuck in place for nearly a week. The resulting weather this weekend will be unsettled at best, showery to stormy at worst. Sunshine will be a premium but it won't rain all the time this weekend. At least we can take solace in that!
As an onshore flow continues to establish itself across the region this weekend, patchy drizzle and fog can't be ruled out tonight and continuing into tomorrow morning. Any shower activity should hold off until Saturday and only be scattered in nature at first...not widespread. The best chances of precipitation will be Saturday night and Sunday as a southerly flow kicks in and instability increases. Some of the showers could be a bit heavier on Sunday afternoon and could also be accompanied by a few rumbles of thunder. With all of this said, it's off and on for the weekend and there will be dry stretches of time mixed in.
Highs this weekend will be in the 60's on Saturday, 70's inland on Sunday while the Shore gets into the mid 60's. Lows tonight and Saturday night will generally be uniform in the mid 50's, with milder and more humid conditions expected on Sunday night.
We'll update the weekend weather picture throughout the weekend, as well as provide a glimpse into the upcoming summer in a post that will be out on Sunday.
