Localized dense fog will start your Saturday off in a deck of gray this morning as residual low level moisture lurks in many locations in the wake of last week's rainfall. Thankfully, that fog should lift during the morning hours and we should get ourselves a rather nice stretch from mid morning into the mid afternoon hours as sunshine mixes with some clouds and temperatures warm through 60's and into the 70's by this afternoon. Compared to yesterday, today's weather will be a marked improvement overall.
It won't be perfect, however, as just enough instability and side effects from the upper level low linger around to spark a few thunderstorms this afternoon. The storms will be scattered in nature and will drift down from the north and northwest after 2 PM. Not everyone will get a shower or storm but some places will and these will last about half an hour should you get blessed with the arrival of one of these later on today. Some small hail, gusty winds can't be ruled out in the strongest of storms. Precipitation coverage won't be like the last few days but with residual instability we can't completely shake the thunder chance quite yet!
One last bit of good news is that odds strongly favor the lack of earthquakes, fire, and brimstone around 6 PM today. We might have a few lightning strikes to dodge but we should be able to pass 6 PM by without too much incident in the weather or earth science realm!
