May 3rd, 2011 Forecast

We'll coax a warm day tomorrow out ahead of the slow moving cold front that moves through on Wednesday.   While shower and storm chances exist to the west and northwest of Philadelphia, the city and points south and east should remain dry for the most part through tomorrow evening.   Since we're on the warm side of the storm system and low pressure will organize along the front and pull some additional warmth up ahead of the front, temperatures on Tuesday will make a run at 80 degrees across inland areas, with the Shore getting into the mid 60's tomorrow afternoon.   Enjoy the one day surge of warmth before we return to reality on Wednesday.

Shower and storm chances should generally stay west and northwest of Philadelphia as the front approaches slowly, then stalls out across Central Pennsylvania for a time before resuming the eastward march.   A few showers could sneak into the Philly burbs but the best chances for tonight and tomorrow should generally stay west and north of Route 222, across Central and Northeast Pennsylvania on west of that.   Tonight's lows will only drop into the mid 50's across the coolest areas to around 60 in Philadelphia.

We'll talk about the frontal boundary timing in a post later on tonight.
