Scattered Thunderstorms Around

Where there are no formalized severe thunderstorm watches out this afternoon a few thunderstorms have approached severe criteria and a couple of warnings have gone out for cells in New Jersey and in Eastern Pennsylvania.   As you can tell by radar up above, this is not a widespread thunderstorm event and most of the activity that's out there is hit and miss in a muggy and warm airmass, with temperatures that have climbed this afternoon into the middle 70's.

Storms will continue to slowly work east and northeast this afternoon into the evening hours, with localized heavier rainfall for some locations and some strong, gusty winds in the strongest of cells.  I don't expect any widespread severe weather but some locations could get a stronger 30 minute rumble of thunder between now and 9 PM.

Activity should begin to diminish after sunset and end towards Midnight.
