May 13th, 2011 Forecast

No superstitions needed in advance of Friday the 13th -- the weather will still be nice...but not as nice as it has been the last several days.   The bubble of high pressure in the South that has kept Midwest storminess at bay is in the process of weakening and an upper level disturbance in the Midwest will slowly ooze into the Great Lakes, bringing a more pronounced flow at the surface and aloft off of the Atlantic...and eventually a chance of showers.

Tonight brings partly cloudy skies to the region but with a weak south breeze some additional low level moisture could bring some patchy fog in a few spots late tonight.   Lows drop into the 50's on a mild night for the region, with temperatures climbing into the lower or middle 70's inland tomorrow (50's at the Shore with a southeast breeze).   Clouds will gradually increase during Friday, with mostly cloudy skies by evening.

Weekend Sneak Peek:   Showery and unsettled weather will be the rule, with Saturday's showery chances not as widespread as what we're looking at for Sunday.   Temperatures on Saturday will top out in the upper 60's, with readings near 70 on Sunday across the Delaware Valley.  The Shore will be cooler thanks to the onshore flow, with highs generally around 60 on Saturday and in the low 60's on Sunday.

We'll talk more about the weekend shower chances later on today.
