Relief & A Stiff Breeze
After yesterday's severe weather event generally fizzled around the city (there was a decent amount of hail and wind reports up in the Lehigh Valley and across Central Jersey during the afternoon and early evening, however), a frontal boundary has slipped southward overnight and is bringing relief from nasty humidity levels of the past few days to the region this morning. Dewpoint levels are in the 40's in many locations after being in the 70's yesterday. While temperatures this morning are still rather mild compared to average, with temperatures at 5 AM running in the 60's and 70's across the region, we will not warm as much today as a northerly breeze kicks in and pulls in "cooler" air from Canada.
Highs today should crack 80 for most everyone -- a good 10-15 degrees cooler than yesterday -- and those northerly breezes could be rather gusty at times after 9 AM. Gusts to 30 mph are a good bet, perhaps even higher in some spots. While a wind advisory is not out today, it will be a rather breezy time of it out there today.
After yesterday's high of 96 -- today's weather will be a welcome change despite the wind.
