June 7th, 2011 Forecast

Another run into the 90's is coming, with today and tomorrow the last "decent" summer days before the heat is turned back on with force in the Philadelphia region.   While tomorrow will be warmer than today by about five degrees, the real heat arrives on Wednesday and Thursday, where highs could get into the mid 90's both days.  More on the heat later on this evening.   Until then, though, the transition between our nice pattern and the heat takes place tomorrow as a warm front lifts on through.   While a better chance for afternoon thunderstorms exists over Central Pennsylvania, some of that thunder could pop up over us after 2 PM.   The farther west and north you are, the slightly better the odds since the thunder should be scattered in nature.

Temperatures tomorrow afternoon will top out between 85 and 88 inland and in the mid/upper 70's at the Shore as the wind trajectory nudges west-southwest during the day.   Tonight features a partly cloudy sky with a slight chance of an isolated evening storm, especially north of town, with lows ranging from near 60 in the cooler burbs to the mid 60's in the city.
