June 16th, 2011 Forecast
Today is shaping up as one of the nicest days of 2011 -- a good deal of sun, not a lot of humidity, and temperatures that will end up around 80 or just above by the time we're through the day. This makes up for those upper 90's we dealt with last week, doesn't it! Well, unfortunately today's nice weather will not last as a disturbance moves towards us and lingers through Friday night, bringing a chance of scattered thunderstorms to the region late tomorrow (mainly west) and again on Friday (everyone else).
It won't be a widespread soaking of rain tomorrow evening or on Friday -- showers and storms will be scattered in nature, with Friday's activity probably a bit more widespread in the afternoon than what we'll see tomorrow evening. Tomorrow's activity looks to be centered far enough to our west and southwest that we'll coax a pretty nice day overall -- we just can't completely rule out the possibility of a shower/storm tomorrow evening locally.
Highs tomorrow get to near 80 north, around or just above 80 Philly and south away from the Shore, with mid 70's at the Shore. We'll wake up in the morning to 50's in the burbs, 60's in the city as some clouds beginning to move in from the west tomorrow morning.
We'll update the shower and storm chances for tomorrow in an updated post tomorrow morning.
