The disturbance responsible for last night and today's thunder will move off the coast tonight, providing us a bit of a break in the stormy chances as we enter the weekend. It won't be a completely dry weekend, however, as more thunderstorms are possible on Sunday as another disturbance works east-southeast through the Mid Atlantic. Sunday's storms could be in association with what is term a mesoconvective system (MCS for short) -- essentially in non-scientific terms it's a larger complex of thunderstorms that travel over a larger distance. These storms could work in early on Sunday and hang out for much of the morning before pulling off the coast. The timing on Sunday's storms is still up in the air, though, but computer modeling is suggesting morning over afternoon as of now. Stay tuned though as that could change!
Saturday should be dry for the most part around the region -- a mix of sun and clouds, with warm temperatures in the mid and upper 80's away from the coast will make it feel rather "typical" for mid June around town. A few stray thunderstorms may pop in the heating of the day, generally west of the city, and provide an afternoon rain delay to outdoor activities.
Lows both tonight and tomorrow night will drop into the 60's everywhere, warmest in the city and coolest in the Lehigh Valley. Sunday's highs are dependent on storm timing and how long they last. For now, we're going with mid 80's locally but that may very well be fine tuned by the time we get to Sunday.
We'll update the storms for Sunday as we work through the weekend.
