This weekend's weather will feature a disturbance moving through the Mid Atlantic as we sit between a ridge of high pressure over the Ohio Valley and Midwest and a trough over the Northeast. The disturbance brings scattered thunderstorms into the region for late, late Saturday (nighttime in our region) and continuing into Sunday before the disturbance departs. Widespread severe weather doesn't look likely but thunderstorms are certainly possible from the late afternoon hours (Central and Northeast PA) tomorrow through the day on Sunday.
While Sunday may be the stormier of the two days it doesn't appear to be an all day washout. It may not be nice all day as the midday and afternoon hours could feature more thunderstorm activity than the morning -- but the region should coax a few relatively dry hours out of Sunday to have outdoor activities.
Temperatures this weekend will be nice as the relief continues from the heat wave. Low temperatures tonight will be similar to what we experienced last night -- 40's in the coolest spots to the 50's in the city, with highs on Saturday around 80 in land, mid 70's at the Shore. Sunday looks to be a couple of degrees warmer away from the water but generally won't be toasty by any stretch. Winds will generally be light and nudging to the south on Saturday and Sunday.
We'll update the thunder threat over the course of the weekend!
