June 2nd, 2011 Forecast

Many times I've talked about Mother Nature slapping us in the face with reality in the form of colder temperatures after a stretch of warmth.  In this case, the "colder" temperatures that will be forthcoming in the wake of today's cold front will be a welcome reality check from Canada as temperatures and humidity levels will be more typical of early June and not more typical of Atlanta in July.   Temperatures tomorrow will top out around or just past 80 across the region, even at the Shore, as winds will blow from the northwest.   Those winds could gust to 30 mph as they pull drier and cooler air down from Canada in the wake of today's frontal boundary passage.   Skies will be mostly sunny and it will be a rather nice, albeit breezy day, overall.

The cool front will set the regime for the next few days -- temperatures will top out close to 80 for highs on a daily basis through Saturday while lows may get under 60 in the city tomorrow night.   Tonight will see the beginnings of that relief as humidity levels will decrease as the night progresses.  By morning, temperatures will bottom out in the lower and middle 60's, several degrees cooler than last night.
