Relief from heat and humidity has hit the region with a refreshing slash of dewpoints and a drop in temperatures from the July-like 90's to more tolerable 80's, with dewpoint levels more typical of late Spring and not late July. The refreshing trend continues for the next couple of days on the strength of a northerly breeze that will pick back up tomorrow and gust at times over 20 mph. Friday's high temperatures should reach the 80 degree mark along I-95 and points south.
The good news is that a comfortable night of sleep is upon non-allergy sufferers as light winds and clear skies will cool us off tonight. Temperatures at daybreak tomorrow should range from the 40's in the coolest of burbs to the 50's in the city. It will be the coolest night in a couple of weeks and, for many, a welcome break!
Weekend Sneak Peek: High pressure will gradually ooze offshore on Saturday and a disturbance will track through the Mid Atlantic in the upper level flow. Some scattered storms are possible late Saturday into Saturday night in parts of Central Pennsylvania, with the Philly area seeing that chance on Sunday. It won't storm all weekend but parts of the region may see some scattered thunder either or both afternoons. Temperatures will top near 80 on Saturday, in the 80's on Sunday as the disturbance pulls some slight warming into the region for a day.
