An atmospheric disturbance will bring us shower and storm chances through tomorrow, with some showers locally heavy and some storms perhaps strong. The disturbance will move overhead tomorrow and enhance shower and storm chances tomorrow afternoon, with showers perhaps lingering into the evening hours before diminishing after sunset. It won't rain all day on Friday and there will be some sunny breaks in the morning before the sun agitates the atmosphere and helps spark shower and storm chances after midday.
Expect low temperatures tonight in the lower and middle 60's across the region, with highs on Friday around 80 north, near 80 at the Shore, and in the low or mid 80's from Philly on south. If we have more widespread shower activity locally we could see temperatures a few notches lower but we've accounted for at least some sun at a couple of points during the day.
Weekend Sneak Peek: Saturday is starting to shape up as a warm but nice day as the disturbance overhead pulls away Friday night, leaving us with sunshine and some afternoon clouds. One can't rule out an afternoon thunderstorm from popping up but those odds look pretty low at this point. Another disturbance (perhaps a complex of thunderstorms) will slide east from the Ohio Valley in the upper level flow. Depending on track, this could bring a chance of some thunderstorms to at least parts of the region for Sunday. We currently have Saturday as the warmer of the two days, reflecting the potential for some thunder on Sunday...but if the thunder threat misses temperatures on Sunday may be a few degrees warmer. Regardless, highs should be in the 80's both days this weekend.
