Rains Coming To End

Rain is coming to an end early this morning across the Jersey coastline as this most recent storm has brought the region anywhere between one and five inches of rain yesterday and overnight.   The highest total by far was at Mount Pocono were 5.07" fell, with Philadelphia getting 1.46".   Some of the suburban totals range from two to three inches, with Towamencin Township in Montgomery County getting 3.56" of rain and Chadds Ford in Delaware County getting 3.42" from the storm.

Speaking of the Chadds Ford area, the Brandywine Creek is about to crest this morning with moderate flooding -- bad enough to close US 1 through the Brandywine Valley this morning.  Moderate flooding is occurring there now but the stream should recede below flood stage tonight.

Other flooding will occur later today along the Schuylkill, the Neshaminy Creek, and the Delaware River amongst the local streams, with moderate and major flooding continuing across North Jersey for the Passaic and other streams up to our north.  You can check out the National Weather Service's website for more information on the flood potential amongst the various streams around the region.

With the rain ending today, skies will feature a mix of clouds and sun later on today with temperatures nudging back into the 50's this afternoon after dipping into the 40's this morning.
