Blast From The Past: Guarino and Bolaris Talking 'Bout Fran

The newest "Blast From The Past" shows the impending trek of Hurricane Fran as it moved towards the Southeast Coast in September 1996.    It's been fifteen years already since Fran (and earlier in the summer, Bertha) impacted the Carolinas.    A younger Rob Guarino and then John Bolaris talk up the storm and the potential of Fran tracking up the East Coast, which did not occur as the bulk of Fran's leftovers went through Virginia and then Western Pennsylvania.   Heavy rain fell across Central and Western Pennsylvania, with flooding in the Central Pennsylvania mountains, but around here a modest rainfall occurred, totaling 0.86" over a three day period of time.

Fran brought significant damage and flooding to the Carolinas and Virginia, killing 22 and producing just over three billion dollars in damage.
