We'll have a more thorough update on tonight's rain later on this afternoon and evening -- the big issue over the next 10-12 hours will be the heavy rainfall that falls across the region, with the potential for four inches of rain in some isolated locations to the north and west of Philadelphia. Heavy rain is likely this evening before a frontal boundary crosses the region from the southwest late tonight, putting an end to the rain in the pre-dawn or early morning hours.
Temperatures tonight will be mild in the midst of the storm, dropping only to around 50 in Philadelphia by daybreak, with 40's possible north and west. Winds will veer around after midnight to the west and southwest after southeast winds blow for much of the night.
On Friday, any early rain will raper off, with sunshine possible later on in the day. Expect some breezes from the west and southwest that could gust to 20 mph but things will improve in the sky...although rivers will be an issue in response to the heavy rain that fell. High temperatures will top out in the upper 50's to around 60 in the afternoon.
Weekend Sneak Peek: Saturday and Sunday will be mild with a mix of sun and clouds. Saturday will be the 'warmer' of the two days although both days feature high temperatures in the middle 50's. A cool front will cross the region on Sunday morning and increase the winds from the northwest, making for a breezy day and temperatures getting knocked back a few degrees.
